Just want some opinions and im a newb when it comes to Volvos.I found a 95 850 T5R for 2300 dollars,it is yellow with auto transmission. It has 197,000 miles on the clock and is in good shape for this many miles. My question is will it be a reliable car and are they responsive to bolt ons like ecu upgrade, intake, etc?I want to let you all know i am a competent mechanic and can do most repairs if needed and understand the turbocharged engine theory.I need opinions...Are there other volvo models i can buy that are better than this one but under 5000 dollars?I want it to be a fast car and carry the groceries at the same time.I plan on upgrading it to 300-330 hp crank....Thanks and all info is helpful since im a newb to these cars....I also have found 2 1996 850R'S at Vol-tech.com in Austin Tx.Check them out.One is white and the other is red..Priced at 5495 for the white one and 6995 for the red one.Give me yalls opinion cause it will be very helpful in my choice of vehicle.I want this Volvo to be about the same as my corvette as in performance in a straight line. Not necessarily beat it but keep up with it basically while being safe and reliable.I dont have a heavy foot in daily driving just want it to do it when needed to wow some folks.Thanks.....Ryan....

That is incredibly cheap for a yellow T5R. But yes 850's are great for power, but still act as a DD. And there are many bolt-on upgrades you can find.

The 850 Turbo cars are excellent for making performance. With a tune and a full exhaust, you can easily get 300 HP out of them.
