Get the manual, read the manual. Could have other useful stuff in it other than "how to switch on"...

The radio should have a button Like AUX or line in or something... try around the bands FM/AM/EtC

The Nav should have a DVD disk drive somewhere... under the pass seat maybe? and you'd just need the disk in it. check the dealer or maybe ebay for the most current version.

I agree with stormtrooper1, I am a car audio tech and the factory volvo deck should have as he described line in, aux or some option like that. If the ipod is "reading volvo for life" just like my ipod reads "alpine" when mine is plugged in it should be linking with the car and should either come up right away when detected.

Although I looked at this link: and this is an 09 i did not see this option, just call volvo hopefully they know sorry dude.

you need to change the radio setting to auto cd changer. or 10cd changer by pressing the cd button if the radio does not display this. disconnect the car battery for 30 mins to reset the system and try again.

the radio should recognize the ipod as a cd multi-changer

Put it on 10 CD changer option...and if it doesn't come out disconnected and reconnect the power to the ipod adaptor whichh its a blue connector in the l/r of trunk...common prob wit those happens to them all which is y volvo stopped making those adaptors

My friends mr2 spyder does that, except his has toyota on the screen. What he has to do is pick the song he wants to hear then plug the device into the cord. someone may have already answered this but i didnt want to look through to see.
