Since it appears looks don't matter, why not just go side exhaust? They can be made for under 30 bucks..

with the exhaust bypass valve open the exhaust is already alot shorter than a side exit so be no benefit, plus i've got to lower the car more yet & a side exit will limit clearance

I was thinking for weight saving, not sound. that cut out does sound gnarly though. twin tip exhaust is heavvyyy though, you should see if a shop will make you a cat back with no muffler for cheap or some thing.

once i've got some money spare i'll make my own alloy catback system, but i do want a muffler to keep the noise down inside. I want to drive the car to Germany for the Nurburgring & thats going to be bad enough without the exhaust droning away lol

hey man, I'm afraid you're gonna get really hurt driving this car- you've essentially stripped out all of your defenses in the event of an accident. You've done a ton of work, this is clear, and I think this build concept is pretty cool, but really, aren't you starting to feel some flexing in hard corners?

thanks for the comments & concern. The boot floor is cut between the chassis rails so still has the main strengthening, i might get an alloy brace bar made for the boot depending how it goes. I wouldn't risk myself by cutting anything within the main safety cell

rear bumper doesn't consist of much now, no more nudging cars out the way when trying to park lol

& with it back in place you'd never know anything

In England?? You're kidding right?

Seriously, though you've really gone to town on the stripping it down!

Not sure I'd want to drive that on the street, with that much structure removed.....

yeh the Police don't like you driving round with no number plate, they stopped me on the motorway once because i hadn't got one on the front

no point doing half a job on the weight saving mate lol.

I think its going to be the noise & rattling that'll put me off driving her regular tbh, i'll see how it is once she's back on the road

fitted the short shift kit this morning, & WOW amazing. I used the closest hole so the throw is shorter than shown in the installation video, & TBH for a daily driver i'd stick to the hole they use. It does take a bit more positive force to move now but thats purely down to the pivot point being closer & having less leverage, which is why i had a bit of bother in the video. It really transformed it & got to be one of the shortest throws i've used

my 854T5 with a nice list of mods was totaled by a dumb girl driver :(

got the new bulkhead bracket off TMS today, & it came complete with the standard bush. Took alot of drilling & sawing to get it out but got it done. Took my old bracket off & the bush was knackered, not far off failing altogether so quite well timed really

bit of a size difference between the old & new spec brackets

bit of a nightmare getting the bar back into place, but went eventually

Just did that myself

You may want to get some large washers for the top and bottom to protect the torque rod from digging into your poly bushing.
