No idea what you are talking about re methanol, but if you are wondering about a RIP kit, all you are really going to get is some nice, shiny piping and couplers. RIP kits do nothing for performance. Some people claim to feel better throttle response, but that's it.

If you have more questions, this topic has been beaten to death. The search engine on this site works great :).

Supposedly they are to offer more throttle response and less turbo lag as the piping is routed shorter than stock, they also claim they drop temps by routing it this way. Think the verdict is that it's more bling than anything.

You know most washer fluid IS methanol...right? Like up to 80%?

Anyway...spraying Meth is like spraying high octane fuel. The more boost you're running, and the more your car is retarding ignition timing up top, the more you'll feel it. At mild boost levels, the difference will feel like driving on a cool winter day vs a warm summer day.

Wow please lead me to an 80% meth washer fluid! The highest ive heard of is about 50/50, but we cant get it here in south Florida since there is no practical need for washer fluid with that much meth. As long as the fluid is blue, its ok (if you dont mind the blue dye) to use, any other color and it may contain ethylene glycol (antifreeze)

I would think if you live in a cooler climate or spend any time in the mountains, the glycol is a welcome (and necessary) addition!

There's a page that broke down diff. brands of washer fluid...one in particular came close to 80 percent according to the page. You'll have to search for it though, sorry!

50/50...that's the exact same ratio of the "Boost Juice" that Snow Performance sells as their special water/meth fluid, isn't it? Or is theirs 51/49? Sounds like a winner to me!

+1 sorry bub. Your charge temp is already sufficiently under control if that W/I system is working right, even if it was just spraying water. But you do achieve full-on yo dawg.

I think most of the gains people feel from RIP kits comes from replacing all the old, worn out hoses and clamps. If you have a buddy who can get/make you the kit for cheap go for it, but don't go spending hundreds of dollars, you will likely be disappointed.

If you can get the W/I for cheap though I'd take him up on that one.

hehe thats the reason i want it lol..its about 100-150$ more for the IPD RIP kit (if you catch it on sale) Vs Samcos or stylins not on sale, and on top of it all, you've got less jungle over near the tranny and can actually get to the tranny dipstick =0

Bling? i imagine so to an extent...its a back and forth arguement...likely wont gain anything, wont lose anything, and your engine bay will likely thank you.

If you need new hoses, and want to go ahead and replace everything at once for that whole system, i see no reason not to go with it. I would imagine less piping distance and less restrictions is going to give you a quicker throttle response, but as far as more HP and whatnot idk..
