I own a 1998 V70 AWD with 132K miles. For the last year, when turning either left or right (90 degree turns), I often (not always) feel a vibration in the steering wheel. Similiar to the rumble strips on the side of the road. Like a shimmy... More noticable when accelerating.
It has been to two indy mechanics. And they have checked:
Brakes
CV joints
Drive Axles
Drive Shaft
Front End
Tires
Struts
Motor mounts (weak)
Wheel bearings
Found nothing wrong.
An alignment shop also looked at it, and couldn't find anything wrong.
Tires have been replaced and rotated/balanced with no effect on the problem.
Any ideas? I hate to just start replacing parts.

Sounds like my quattro Audis do all the time. From new! Normal for them.
Does it only do it at low speeds? If your turning 90 degrees either way,I hope it's slow.
Are you holding wheel against steering stops while turning?
P.Steer vibes,maybe?
Your "weak" mounts could have something to do w/it.

Yes, it's a low speeds while turning corners.
No, it's not against the steering stops.

My '98 V70 AWD is doing the same exact thing. When at slow speeds going around tight turns there is an audible/physical vibration. I have had the tires rotated religiously and was hoping somebody might know what is causing this problem. It certainly doesn't appear to be normal. Is it the ABS trying to correct wheel speed differences around tight corners? Anyone???

Try turning off ABS/TRACS to see if it makes any difference.
