For the left axle, it should be fine to use the 850's, correct? Drove the car today, but driver side is leaking from the transmission. Went ahead and ordered a new axle seal, but I thought I should ask if it's better to run the XC axle on the driver side too. Thanks for any input.

I'm using the autoaxles - until I get my M58 axles ready. The only difference is the OD of the outer shaft.

99 and older axles will work till the CV joint then you will have to use a shaft to the hub on the 850 .

Just making sure it was the bad seal, not an axle problem. Thanks guys.

That's what he told me, but I thought I'd double check. He said the V70 AWD axle looked about right for the passenger side, which turned out to be wrong...anyway, seal should go in tomorrow so I'll know for sure soon enough. I don't anticipate any real problems.

??

The 98 AWD right side axle didn't work for you? That doesn't make sense. The offset/spacing from trans to engine support to hub is the same for 850 as V70....

No, the '98 XC70 axle is perfect. I was talking about the '00+ V70 AWD axle.
