I want to get 18's just because they look great, but they are slightly more expensive, as are their tires.
However, i have seen/heard about bending 18's because they have a smaller tire profile, or stressing the sidewalls.
I don't have any extra money to spend on the rims in terms of maitenance. Is it worth getting 18's?
Also please correct me if im wrong about any of this.

ps not sure if it makes a difference, but im talking about pegs

Yes, I believe that 18" pegs will look a million times better than 17"s. It will give your car more of an edgy look and with the little less rubber, you may feel more stable in your maneuvering. I certainly did when I went to a bigger wheel. With that being said, you are basically paying for looks, which are worth it imo.

18's look better, but it's really personal preference.

18" pegs don't quite look right on the darker S/V70's imo, they're too big:

I'd stick with 17x7.5 or 17x7 with a 43 or lower offset. Plus, 17's will move the rotating mass inward, making the car feel less slower  From personal experience, Dunlop Direzzas in 225 width rub badly on the inside fender liners with 49mm offset in the front and rear. The 46mm offset of the stock pegs won't be much better.

Needs moar R bumper and it would look hot with 18s.

running 17x7.5 amalthea on the S70. I'm liking the responsiveness of the 235/45s. Noticeably less sidewall flex and more responsiveness.

id go with 18'' on the x70 cause the fender wells are bigger than the 850. However, its personal preference i just like the bigger wheels.

I stil can't decide...i want 18's because they look (and handle, supposedly) great, but i want 17's because they are more practical in theory, and less expensive.

How much do 18" pegs usually go for?

you could prob find a beat up set for around 500 and then get them refinished or just do them yourself.

Shameless Plug:

18" Pegs - cheap!

Personally I would only go with 18's if the roads are decent and the wheels are really something special (say, BBS Tritons). 17's still get you 90% of the cosmetic upgrade, and you can at least maintain some semblance of ride quality. The roads here are so awful that 18's don't make sense unless you have a buddy who owns a wheel repair shop.
