... meant lambda sensors, obviously. Volvo doesn't have a recommended service interval but OEM is Bosch and they recommend changing wide-band O2 sensors every 100,000 miles. I keep my oil level a little low @ 60-80% of full/max to prevent the oil trap from screwing with the injectors too. Even though my PCV system is squeaky clean I still have pressure problems when it's all the way full. Oddly enough, the transmission seem to like being slightly overfilled. I guess the extra pressure helps those old solenoids open up or something, go figure.

I had the same thing happen to me. It was the # 3 shift solenoid/valve and I let it go to long like you. It would have been a 200 dollar fix. I parted my s80 out and got 4 grand out of it.
