Ok so heres the deal,
Ive replaced two sets of hid bulbs this year and its getting pretty expensive to change the bulbs so often. Since im in Canada the dealer wont turn the DRL off, so is there any other option you guys know of? Fuse or relay or something? Im not going back to halogens...

DRL's need to be turned off by the dealer. canada requires DRL's on all cars so its illegal to turn them off..

Do you have fog lights? If so, couldn't you just use halogens in your fogs and run those during the day, granted you can turn on the fogs while keeping the headlights off.

Option - 1
Fuse #1-2 in the interior fuse box (on the driver side of the dash) is DRL's

you'll get a Light bulb warning light

Option 2
Drive to US and find a Volvo Dealer, They quoted me $30-50 depending on if I need software

Still illegal however in Canada

Mount some LEDs in the headlights and set up a relay inside the car to switch between the LED and the HID. LED for day, HID for night.

it's a setting in VIDA/VADIS.

Find an Independent with VADIS and a VCT2000 and it should be a 5-minute fix.

Why wouldn't you want daytime running lights?
It makes the car more noticeable, even in daylight.

Read above.
Actually, I think DRL's are a good idea. Especially for the boneheads who don't turn their lights on at night. But its costing me way too much money.

what kind of bulbs are those?
I put siemens d1s bulbs (which were at least 1 years old) in my HLs 2 years ago, run them all the time and those b*tches don't want to burn out. I wan't to upgrade to 5000k hids.

yeah same here I just want to be able to turn the DRLs off because it's just wearing out the HIDs on my car, and anyway I got fog lights on mine so I could just use them as DRLs if necessary. And I'm trying to see if there is any other way of turning them off other than going to the dealer and let them rip me off for something like this...

BTW Good choice with the 5000k, they're awesome, I just got mine and I love them
