Would you be interested in the Turbo-Tuner USB ECU for your GT28 custom mapping? Based on other user's experiences, you will be able to achieve better results than with the MTE custom tune and it's much more cost effective since you can tweak the tune any time you like for any further mods you make, without having to wait for Marco to be in the UK.

Sorry I forgot to put the "/" between MTE and Gripper.Like most things Russ it is a personal thing so for me it is going to be the Gripper

Hi Adam

I keep on thiking about the Turbo-Tuner but TBH my knowledge on how to set the ECU is beyond me And I know I would push the tune to hard.

Any plans to head back to the dyno soon Russ?

England gets very similar winter weather to here in Southwestern Canada - lots and lots of rain. I bet the car is a pain to drive most days now eh?

Hi Captain

I wil be back once the new cams are finally in and the gearbox problems are fixed then will see what its making if all goes to plan.
We have lots of rain at the moment i have not driven the car much as i am waiting for a special event next week and did not want gearbox troubles to crop up.I have driven the car in the wet many times its all still fun ;)

What model year gearboxes are you using? They shouldn't be that easy to break, you're not making 1000 ft-lbs of tq :D

Hey Russ I had 3 of those gearboxes apart 2 m56h and 1 m56L. I will be hones with you they are so simple that there is nothing to brake.
Noise like that is probably a bearing , also parts from those are interchangeable.
I saw somewhere thread I believe , turbobricks , hank's yellow .
He had all part numbers for bearings , from Timken if I am not mistaking
Good luck
Build block,93 cams ,precision 5031E ,custom manifold, M56h ,custom 850r clutch, FMIC ,Full exhaust system, recaro seatd, custom 4 pistom alfa BBK , Sway bars and links , Bilstein suspension, Turbo Tuner
Dyno.
Runs like a champ , finally
PM me if you need any volvo parts

Russ, I'm told that you need to get a >=2002 box. That's when they got stronger. 98 is a bit better than 95 but small difference, 2002+ can take 200 Nm extra.

One downside, it has a different input shaft (different number of teeth) so you'd have to change the clutch plate as well.

Oh and it weighs 9kg extra (forged gears and shafts) :o
