No one's saying anything is better than anything else, we are of the same community and share the same passion.....that being Volvos.

Just to clarify.....

Pulling the neener neener my shit's better's kid shit. You go ahead and do what makes you happy. A public thread is open to all responses it may get and that is simply what we did.

I've never said my shit is better. But atleast you did good with the do what makes you happy part. You just struck a nerve, but whatever.

You are all (Dave and Aaron), are just sticks in the mud. But hey, keep doing your thing, and I'll keep doing mine. My car will be different, and actually grab someones attention, as compared to the stock-looking Volvo's you guys insist are beter. The fact is, my car got more attention with these wheels on it, than I have ever had with any prior mod to the car. Not only attention, but positive comments. Oh well, some people are just living inside the box.

I agree. It's not just Aaron or Dave on this board, there's quite a few of you that have strong opinions on how Volvo's should look on here. Not having an "R" bumper, or not having the car slammed enough doesn't mean the car doesn't look good. Kudos to you for doing something different! The amount of pompousness on here disgusts me sometimes.

In Soviet Pennsylvania, wheels drive you!

Really though, this is the internet, where people throw their inhibitions out the window and share their opinions, for better or worse. I have done some silly things to my R and the feedback has been brutal at times. I used to get offended, but I have realized it is better to just let people know they are entitled to their opinions and move on.

I happen to be a fan of things that aren't ordinary, and I enjoy weird colors.

Those rims were textured and my favorite out of all of the ones I have owned. I was amazed at how many compliments I recieved, even from people not into Volvos, or cars for that matter.

Just another example of people having their own taste. Hell, I am probably going to be coating another set of wheels silver-vein, I like it that much. Also nice that the coating is EXTREMELY durable and easy to keep clean. Hell, I hit a pothole hard enough to break the wheel, but the powder was unscaved. After the tire was removed, it was still is perfect condition. <3 silver-vein!

This is what makes the world so interesting, the fact that everyone is different and if we all rocked them the same we would have no one to laugh at   :P .

JK really, it's all good. It's just not my thang, and just seems overly played on the VW and ricer scene, which is something that lured me towards Volvo's CLASS and STYLE not to mention there safe as hell  .

I wasn't trying to make it sound like I was saying your shit's stupid or anything like that......you want yellow, purple, pink wheels, shit go for it.

I know it's not just me with this mindset......you sort of ask for it saying how rare, blah blah, etc. It's a damn 13+ year old car, nothing is rare about that and almost everything done to it is followed by a OMGLQQKIEHOWUBERRAREICANBEEEEEEE. Seriously man.....alot of it is brought on by you.

Not to mention one of you guys pick up the yellow wheels and then put them on all 3 cars.

Just like I tell Mike (NA Mike) all the time.......he's done quite a few things that just strike me as completely untasteful but when it comes down to it, the car is his and that is completely fine. But, he is a prime target for picking at.

I think originality is appreciated much more than off the wall styling.

I mean seriously, how the hell do the bright yellow pegs blend with anything on the car? It sort of reminds me of the 601 S70 somewhere around here that has or had body matched wheels. I mean they match the paint but overkill is indeed a word and too much or too far can be realistic concepts. Just one of those things that makes you bang your head against the wall screaming WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?! :o

Would you wear sweat pants and a dress collar shirt to a job interview? How about pink socks, a suit and flip flops? Same deal there.....shit has to flow together, otherwise it will look retarded.

For real man, look at the thread title? My point....you had to have been expecting at least one negative post.

None the less though, your car, your ideas.....Volvo for life.

PS, There's a brand new metallic gray Mazdaspeed3 around here w/ powdercoated puke green wheels.....wanna know what that looks like? Very similar to the prairie dog I experience at work around 6 AM each morning.

I really don't think you do what you do to your car for your car, I think you do it to get amusement out of everyone's responses....well, negative attention can be and is a very real concept.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you want to be taken seriously.......take yourself seriously and quit with the rare crap, maybe when you get a new car part don't start the thread title off with you laughing at yourself and maybe only try the new part on the car it's intended for.

Just a few ideas, I'll stop shitting on your parade now....promise.

Lastly, for it to be YOUR idea.....you have to choose a different color. Justin already chose yellow. Just be sure to start a thread after another color is chosen.

My comments/input has nothing to do with telling anyone how THEIR car should look or what should be done to it. My thoughts were simply voiced to explain why yellow pegs do not work. In my opinion of course. :P :D

See above response, I was not, in anyway preaching on how something should be done.....just simply why I feel the pegs look reeedonkulous.

Mod it, mod it til the doors fall off........but damn, remember what it is. It is luxury, not something that resembles shit it can never and will never be.

Being different is an extremely attractive thought, whether or not it looks humanly acceptable is something completely different.

Agreed and agreed.....drinking your own poison is a very realistic thing.

Shit, I create my own stress and drama sometimes too.....just how the world turns but when shit hits the fan, wondering why it happened is just idiotic.
