hey guys,

timing belt went on my 1995 850 while accelerating out of a toll plaza. the motor hasn't been opened up, so i don't know exactly how much damage, but at the very least some of the internals (like the valves) will likely need to be replaced.

up until the timing belt went, the motor basically had no problems. it burned the usual amount of oil (0.5-1 qt per 5k miles), and pulled 198 hp stock on the dyno. approximately 200k miles on the motor (odometer doesn't work). transmission was replaced 2 years ago.

i'm putting it up for sale in case anyone is looking for a build project. the car is in east greenbush, ny (just across the river from albany). everything is still in the car so we'll need to sort out a weekend to pull everything (i'm in boston).

i'll ask for $400 or best offer for the motor.

if you also want the transmission, turbo, alternator, etc as part of the sale we can discuss that.

since $400 for a busted motor is a fucking joke

you can buy working 100k motors for 500 so why would anyone want your POS 200k motor that burns oil that doesnt work ?

I said pretty much the same thing the day he posted it and my post got deleted. Sometimes you gotta draw the line.

I see a lot of it, but this one takes the cake. Flaming should be allowed, if not encouraged for shit like this. I'd feel like an asshole even thinking about trying to sell a blown engine.

Why the fuck do people feel that they have to try to make money off of everything?
