On the way to work. Just filled up my tank...nearly 18 gals. Ricky Racer in a brand new black S2000 CR with no plates tried to punk me out getting on the freeway on ramp.

Long story short, he got punked by a station wagon with 3rd row seating, 3 times in a row. He then stayed well back out of embarrassment.

That is all. :)

Wow, what are you going to race today? Dumb is a very good word for what I think about this.

Got a big cock? Let me see it!

Did you beat him by an inch? a STOCK CR with an average driver runs a 14.4 @99mph

Google Search

A good driver in a stock S2k would beat 70% of the cars on this forum

LOL. right. considering this was on the highway. and 99% of people don't know how to drive s2ks (as in stay in gear to 9k+ etc) no. pretty sure he blew his face off.

 to you.

It wasn't really a contest...we'd both get on it from mid range. I would instantly pull ahead (oh, hi torque!) while he made a ton of noise trying to get up to 8k RPM so his VTEC could kick in, yo. He instantly fell back more than a carlength every time, then he would give up, wait for me to slow down, then he would try to get the jump on me again. That happened 3 times. lol.

The B16 Civic I raced put up a better fight than the S2K did.

I'm installing a 19T in the next 3 weeks or so. My goal is to beat the sport compact trifecta (SRT4/STI/EVO).

Srt-4's aren't anything special, i've got videos of me beating stage2 srt-4's and i lost to a HTA35R srt-4 by half a car. Evo's on the other hand are beasts

Unlike other people i back up my stories with videos

S70 T5 vs SRT-4 vs Stage3 audi S4 vs 600whp Evo 8

STage2 srt-4 vs Volvo

That doesn't really make sense though. In stock trim, all 3 cars have trap speeds within 2mph of one another. Not to mention, EVO's should have a little more drag from the driveline in the triple digits.

But, if you're talking off the line, then yes...either of the AWD cars are quicker than the SRT4 by over half a second. But they aren't really any faster.

I try to only run from a roll anyway, as high TQ + FWD = t3h suck. lol.

Nice vids! Looking at your ET and traps, you clearly have more work done to your car than mine (not to mention, I'm in an auto wagon, not a manual sedan!). What do you have done? You're a full 8mph and 1.2 secs(!!!) faster!

I said a good driver. You have to keep s2k's really high in the rpm range to really make any power out of them but if you bring them all the way out they can be pretty suprising

For one, this go-faster S2000 CR doesn’t go faster. In fact, it’s actually a little slower — 0-to-60 mph in 5.7 seconds, the quarter-mile in 14.4 at 99 mph...

The only surprising thing about the S2000 CR is that someone spent almost $40k for it, only to match the performance figures of a 16 year old station wagon.

Sean, didn't you know volvo's aren't for racing.

And if you do happen to step on the gas a little too much when your next to another car doing the same thing your gonna get flamed to the max for it.

The wagon is only to pick up the kids from soccer and grocery shopping

I walked and s2k cr from 60 in a bone stock 850r there wasn't much contest each time I pulled a length or two at the start and kept it. The latest car pulled on a stg2 bug eye sti. No clue what stg2 means that's just what he blurted out when I asked what he had done. I know there wasn't a turbo upgrade so I'm thinking tune exaughst fmic and intake?

WRX STI mods:

Stage 1 (chip):

Quote

Included in the Stage 1 kit is the highly regarded AccessPORT which is used to reprogram the factory engine computer, unlocking an additional 25 HP (power) and 40 lb-ft (torque) from a STI and increases boost from 14.5psi to approximately 16psi...

Posted Image

Stage 2 (chip + exhaust):

Quote

Included with Stage 2 is the AccessPORT, as well as the complete COBB Tuning Turbo Back Exhuast. Starting off the COBB Turbo Back system is the COBB Downpipe. The CAD designed bellmouth of the COBB downpipe makes sure the airflow is smooth and efficiant. The system finishes with the modest tip of the Cat Back section that sits completely flush with the bumper. With a subtle, but deep exhaust note, the COBB exhaust achieves the highest performance while still retaining a stock like appearance...

...they sure make a chip and exhaust sound reallllly special, don't they?! haha. Looking at the power levels, it would take a little more to get our old cars to match them, even if they are a little optimistic like most tuners are. My car, with a chip and exhaust, just barely beats a stock STI's power to the wheels (1hp higher).

To match a Stage 1 STI (254whp), I'd need a bigger turbo and some race gas. To match a Stage 2 car (277whp), I'm thinking rods would be in order just to be safe, as it would likely need running 20+psi.

This makes me think the STI I raced *was* stock, and if I had higher octane in the tank on a cool night, I would have crept up and pulled on him.

Buddy of mine has the Cobb stageII in his STi and it moves out, 50 more HP to the wheels is good money spent and it's very user friendly, why can't we get some stuff like this  .

There is no such thing as a (02 - 03) bug eye STI in the US  only 2.5rs and WRX models

Cobb stage 2 is not great on a WRX, i pulled 5 cars on one on video, 04 - 06 STI came with the Vf39, and newer models came with either the VF43 (i think) and the new 08 sti came with the IHI VF48

16T at 20psi is a good match for a stage2 sti, but you need to go from a 50 roll, any lower and their torque will take you. You dont need rods in our cars til 300whp. White block is good for 400crank on a perfect tune
