Good stuff, youre not wasting any time! Good for you.

Clean that thing up and get it back on the road with the 5 speed and 'new' engine, it will be great.

Matt
MY97 855 Manual swap, Porsche Brakes, 16T on LPT block and plenty of IPD parts

MY04 V70R 6 speed manual, mostly stock

MY05 XC90 2.5T AWD. Bone stock and staying that way.

I'm trying to get a majority of it done this week... as much as possible anyway. I on;y have a couple more days before my restaurant reopens for the year then that'll take most of my attention. :lol:

Basically all the dismantling is done. I started putting a couple of things on the new engine today that felt good.

summary from today
AWD gone.
engines torn down
shifter removed
steering rack removed
parts piling up in corner
Parts list growing exponentially :(

me "having a hard time getting the pass side rear axle of"
Justin "why you taking that off lol"
me "uhhmm"

and guess what after all that the frickin outer axle ends need to go back on because the abs won't work without them in there.

sweet. :lol:

Yup. now I have to put at least the outer ends back in for the ABS. :lol:

we were going to remove the rear diff too before we realized what a pain it was going to be.

btw does anyone know why there is a metal plate under the AWD passenger motor mount vs. no plate on the FWD versions?

Good deal. I plan on removing my diff/axles when I install my new A-arms. I have a feeling it's going to be a big pita.

I thought the gas tank was between the rear sub and the body. I know you need to remove the arms and all but I did not think the tank would have to drop also.

That's the plan. As soon as I get my tax return monies I'll be picking up a motor down South and ordering everything for a rebuild.

only difference that I have found is the lower control arms

AWD = 4 bolt
FWD = 2 bolt

Also that plate under the motor mount on passgeger side is due to the suspsension is higher in the R then the T5 or NA cars.
