Just like it states I installed new rear calipers/rotors/and pads on my 95 850 Turbo Wagon. My question is do you have to use the clips that look like a cross? The ones that go around the pins and over the pads.
I didn't put them on so what could happen??? Thanks

Yes, you should put them on.

It should only take you a few minutes per wheel. Push the bottom pin out, hook the clip under the top pin, hold down the clip and work the bottom pin back through on top of the clip, make sure both pins are seated and your done.

its called the antiratlle spring, and you need to put them back, or.. huh.gif

you'll get fast and uneven pad wear and mostly of all, you'll get noises from the brakes

Yes. The one side was sticky which attached to the back of the pad and the other side was a black "non slip" material. They are on nice but still wonder why the clips must go on. They seem to be in there nice and tight as they are.

You have to put them on because WE SAY SO!!!

Actually, if you leave enough parts off, your car will get lighter and get better mileage.

OR, you may smash into something.

The shim changes the angle of attack between the pad and the disc. Without the shim, the brakes may/will squeal.
