I am looking at the OBX exhaust and I HATE the tip. I am going to throw a more STOCK looking tip on there but need to know the length so I can buy it.

I need to know THIS length and does it come out straight out of the rear bumper?
Posted Image

and its diameter so I can buy the right size.

Thanks!

When you get the dimensions post them please. I don't really like the tip either and was thinking of replacing it, but I have to see it on the car first (haven't installed it yet) and I'm not at home to measure it for you.

on my car the tip to the weld is about 7.5 inches and it extends about 1 inch past the top of the bumper. i got my system used so i have a feeling that the tip was cut and shortened.

Any exhaust shop can install the tip of your choice for about $35-$50, including the tip. Talk to Jeff (rarest car ever), I think he's running a full OBX system.

About 7 3/4" long but it sticks out about an 1". I've been meaning to take it to a shop and get it welded flush with the bumper.

I care because as you can see from the picture the weld that comes out of the muffler is not straight until it gets to that last weld. You can not put a 12" tip on there and have it sticking out 4 inches... so that is why I am wondering.

Before I throw whatever I want on there I have to make sure the length is correct. If I was to cut off that tip after the weld where it is straight then I want to make sure the diameter of that part is not 3.25 inches and I order a 3" inlet tip... clear things up?

That'd be me! (Brett)

I'll measure it. I also am not too fond of the tip. It looks 1/2 way decent, but I'm looking for a dual-outlet tip, and it is 2.5 on the rear of the OBX.

Sorry, I met you both and I still confuse you.

No worries, it happens alot, believe it or not.

From the muffler to the end of the OBX tip is just under 14.5 inches, and the muffler to almost flush with the bottom of the cutout on the bumper is about 12 inches.

Dave, I've got a custom system but I put on a rectangular 3" tip. Looks real close to the factory one, it's made by Gibson. Bought it from Summit Racing.

That is exactly what I am doing... the biggest INLET they have is 3" which is what I hoping I can fit around that end if I HACK it off.... 8" seems to be the right length
