Need help. I get a popping sound when in reverse and the wheel is turned almost(but not quite) all the way. Someone mentioned that it's probably the outer cv joint. Whats the cost and is it something that I can do with a moderate amount of know how. 2000AWD XC Wagon. thanx in advance

With moderate know how and some patience, replacing the axle should not be a problem. Of course, I just realized that you have an AWD XC, which may be more of a headache. Check out www.raxles.com for axle prices. Ask Rich. He'll be able to tell you exactly how difficult of a repair that is. He's always willing to help you out and give you pointers if you decide to do the job yourself. I know I'm glad he's around here
