Or...you could videotape the run, and then play it back while timing it with a stopwatch. Unless you're a sloth, you can get within 1/10 of a second pretty easily.

OBD and speedo readings are influenced by tire size. GPS is the way to go.

50 to 70 and 70 to 100 are still the industry standards. Get under 1.5 seconds in the 50-70 and come back and we can rehash this.

For being standards I can find surprisingly little 50-70 data online
Its also a silly small bracket imo.
Also 1.5 seconds seems a little too quick to be a benchmark, even a Z06 doesn't cut that. When I tested a 2010 XKR it did 50-74 in 1.8 secs. 0.5s faster than my turbo lagged 850 will do. But I'd beat the XKR to 120 with a big margin just because the 50-74 happened to be a sweet spot for the Jag. So a short single gear torque dominated pull doesn't mean much.
