hey guys i finally bought a volvo tonight and its a 90 740 turbo innercooled. i just ordered a MBC, MFPR, muffler, turbo timer, IPD sport springs, IPD water pump gasket kit, bov, hard pipe w/flange, and an IPD window sticker. i just put a k&n cone filter on it today when i got home. tommorow im making an appointment to get a full 2.5" exhaust put on it with a gutted cat and resonator style muffler. im not boosting it anymore til i get the new plugs in it, the exhaust on it,and gauges.

i was VERY surprised to drive it tonight and after just the filter (i tried getting it to come around on me before and it wouldnt) given that the roads were wet from a little rain but i brought it in the road and i was pretty impressed. the car right now has a 2" exhaust on it with 2 mufflers and one cat.

i cant wait to get this thing finished and boosted.

now my question is where is a good place to put the BOV and after i do this say it is tuned to run a little rich what can i run for boost levels? how hard is a carrier bearing to replace and how hard is the tailshaft seal to replace?

i will post pictures with the springs and etc. soon.

Center shaft bearing is pretty easy, don't normally need a press. The tail shaft seal is not hard, but you need to replace the bushing as that usually the cause of the seal failure. To changing the bushing you need a press or a special tool.

I'd add an IPD turbo cam to your list of things to buy, as well as some new chips from Mike (aka thelostartof)

have to be logged in over there. He also has down pipes and other exhaust stuff.

After that I'd expect 22-24 psi would be safe as long as your MAF sensor is in good shape.

i have a freind with a 93' civic with a custom turbo kit on a 1.6l vtec. he has been talking trash to me all day and i would say he has about 170-190whp and his car weighs about 2400lbs. at 15psi and tuned right would i be able to take him? im hoping so because i want to watch him eat his words.

How many miles on the car?? How is the timing belt plugs wires cap rotor etc before doing mods it is always best to make sure you have a good platform to build upon.IIRC 90 740 turbo did not have the limited slip diff so you may wnat to add a lsd from a later 940T .Have fun with it and btw thay honda will hand you your ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD.
