Evening all

my driver side mirror glass fell out the housing.

I have the whole assembly but just need the glass.

Can i remove the glass without breaking it or just replace the assembly?

I've never messed with the glass. If yours just fell out it'll probably do it again. Replacing the assembly is stupid easy in a 240. The door panel has to come off, then from there you pop off the cover and unbolt it. Go and grab an assembly from the junkyard.

If this is a power mirror, then it might be better to replace just the glass. Trying to feed wiring through that door jamb is a total PITA

It is much more simple to replace just the glass. there is a whole in the bottom of the housing, stick a small flat screwdriver in the whole and there is a lock ring like thing in there that you move to the left and it unlocks the glass from it's holder. There is pics and better description If you have a Haynes manuel for it, if you don't go to a parts store and just look in one of theres for free. I got my replacement glass at the salvage yard for like 2 dollars. If you havn't lost of broken your glass you can reglue it back to the holder. But, for the love don't replace the whole housing.

+1 I'm with Blacknight. It's stupid easy once you've done it. If you have an old mirror handy that you can turn upside down and practise with, it makes it simpler to do.
