I wouldn't bother posting this as a "race," because it's the kind of crap that happens all too frequently. Some jerk driving an American V8 tank (late-model Chevy Suburban in this case) gets all offended when he gets passed by a foreign wagon, then tries to save face by 'racing' only to watch the wagon disappear into the distance.

Rte 2, outside Glastonbury CT, I passed said Suburban in the right lane about 80mph, because he was camped out in the left lane going 75. He evidently takes offense, then tries to pass me on the right after we clear some slower traffic. Normally I'd let it go, but I wasn't in the mood today. I downshift to fourth and wait for him to pull even, then I nailed it. It's always fun to feel the turbo spool up and feel the R gather momentum. Even more fun to watch a big V8 tank driven by a middle aged dude consumed with rage disappear in the rearview.

Anyway, I slowed down after a bit and let him by me. Then I see the bumper stickers: "NObama Care." "McCain/Palin" etc.. I couldn't figure out why he got SO pissed off by getting passed, but maybe he's in a permanent state of rage.

Shit. If I had KNOWN he was on his way to a teabag rally, I'd have let him by to begin with.

I wouldn't call that a race. More like the driver just being an a-hole. I have encountered them before. Own the left lane, etc.

I passed a guy on the right also and he sped up to block me so I didn't pull in front of him before I blocked by slower traffic. He slowed down to match the speed of the slower traffic after that. 4 lanes of freeway going up a hill and found my opening in the far right lane. He tried coming after me but lost site of him after a few minutes.

I am sure he just waited for someone else to try and mess with.

I see drivers like that all the time when I'm on RT. 2, using my middle finger comforts me the most though.

Oh, Rt 2. From Hebron to Hartford (and on) its a nice little haven to ricers. From about Glastonbury east, its rednecks gone wild. However, its really just a great place to make sure your intercooler is working right, and that your mbc isn't going to fade out. Racing just isn't something us grandma's do, however
