My paint is the Topic Green Metallic, the same color that MrTropher has on his 850.
Honestly, I have never waxed a car before and if any of you could help me out on what I should be using, as well as waxing techniques, that would be so awesome.

there's a lot to learn, tons of different waxes/polishes out there. check out Autogeek they have turorials and lots of information. It's getting to be that time of the year, and I am trying to figure out what kind of wax I should be using on my car.

I can tell you that poorboys makes some really good stuff that's not outrageously expensive. that's a good place to start IMO contact NGB he sells it.

I like to personally use paste wax over liquid wax and my wax of choice is mothers caranuba paste. I apply it only by hand never by machine, just my personal preference, all the other steps get done by machine and as mentioned poorboy's has a great line of products! I use there professional polish, ssr1, and black hole followed by a good coat of wax.

Up until now, I have found that Meguires gold class is my favorite (NXT is a close second). I use mostly Meguires stuff for my full details. I have Griots stuff for the quick washes.

if you want a really good finish you need to look into polishing your car.I just wish my paint looked as good as MrTrophers lol. God damn his paint looks new
steps to perfect paint: (as long as you don't have massive scratches rust etc.)
- Wash and dry car thoroughly
- Use clay to remove embedded dirt and oxidation
- use 1 or two polishes to remove swirls scratches etc.
- apply wax or sealant
each step needs to be researched especially the polishing and quite honestly it's a ton of work to restore the paint but totally worth it.
hope that helps
I would avoid that at all costsChe's Nut Wax!

yeah you'll want to get a machine to do it right. I have a porter cable which is fine if you have all day to polish your car but this year I want to learn how to use a rotary polisher. time is precious.do you guys polish with machine or hand though? i have tried polishing by hand and it doesn't work too well. i do always wax by hand though.

Indeed. Machine is where it's at. There's a reason why detail shops use them. They work better and faster than by hand, no question. I wanted to get my paint back into decent shape, so I bought a used Dewalt orbital . I did lots of research, then bought everything I needed like foam pads, polish, wax, glaze, claybar etc and plunged into the job. Meguars seems to be pretty good stuff, easily available, not horribly expensive. Orbitals are slower than rotary, but it's near impossible to burn the paint, esp if you dial down the speed. The results were good for my first try. Check my sig for some shots of the car the day after I did all that. It doesn't suck too badly...

The problem is all the products that use Carnauba Wax do not last one rain underneath my oak trees.
Unfortunately I can't cut the trees, just had to find a car polish that would stand up to the abuse of the oak sap acid.
Carnauba Wax is a vegetable wax obtained from the leaves of a Brazilian palm tree
it melts at 181 degrees F which is why they tell you not to apply in the sun.
Carnauba Wax is the hardest natural wax available and it's extremely durable.
Best of all it dries to a glossy finish.
Unfortunately after years of using and experimenting wasting time waxing buffing and polishing
the same wax up to 8 times in one summer I got the hint.
Carnauba Wax because of it's properties melts at a low temp then it get's sticky
and all the pollen an dust sticks to your freshly cleaned polished surface,
only to redo all the work you just put into your car for the weekend.
Buying more of the same Carnauba Wax polish ect.. And wasting more time.
That new Meguiar’s NXT Generation™ Tech Wax 2.0 I don't even know how to rate it.
I didn't like it, too sticky.
Nu Finish is the only Car wax polish that stands up to the rain under the trees,
I can apply in the sun, and the shine lasts about 1 month including water beading.
That's a crazy feat to beat.
I'm sold. It's wipe on and wipe off too. My PortaCable 7424 doesn't see that much car buffing.
Nu Finish's main polishing ingredient
Diethanolamine tall oil acid amide with Kaolin clay (calcined)
Stoddard solvent
and
Water
