Hey, lately, for the past 5 months the door hatch on my wagon has been getting harder to operate. it seems that it doesn't engage as soon as it should and requires much more effort than usual. any thoughts.?? thanks for the time...o yeah this summer we are thinking about driving to mexico down to Guanajuato, about 3 days southo' the border. I'll let everyone know how the trip went. I don'thtink there are many Volvos there.. should be interesting.

You can get a latch at volvosaabparts.com for $65 plus shipping.
My latch was falling apart at the rivets and was causing excessive rattling. Plus my key fob would not control the tailgate lock. Installing a new (actually used) one cured all my problems.
The dealer wanted $170 for a new one.
