I've searched all messages on all the volvo sites, including the official Volvo site, and according to every Volvo VIN decoding page I've found my engine doesnt exist. That or I'm missing something.

The first part of my VIN is "YV1LV62D4X"

Its the "62" part I can't find anywhere. Anyone else have a "62?" I'd like to find out exactly what my engine number is. Thanks in advance!

I have the same problem as you, only my VIN is giving the number 46. I can only find numbers in the 50 range. Strange.. dry.gif
I have a 98 V70 2.0 LT.

The Volvo VIN decoder on that link doesn't have anything helpful/that matches up with 62.

I did just check through a bunch of '99 V70Rs on Autotrader and their VINs also had the 62. Wierd that it doesn't match up with Volvo's website.

If you want to PM me your VIN, I'll run it on VADIS and see if anything comes up.

If you want to know what kind of engine is in your car, look at the timing belt cover, there is a sticker on it that has your engine type and the serial number.

When ordering parts online I can never find the "T8". Am I to assume this is the turbo designation and most 5234 parts will fit?
