I know I'm not supposed to see smoke, but I keep hearing that people still do after doing a pcv maintenence. I know that fixing the pcv is much much cheaper than doing the rms, but am I supposed to see 0 smoke from the dipstick? It's currently wintertime (more or less) so it will for sure smoke because it's so much hotter in there. How can I tell for sure? I don't think it's that much smoke coming out, but it is present.
Any input? How much would the pcv repair probably end up being at the average indy? I understand that the diagnostic would already be a bit, so I really don't want to have to go in and have him say it's fine.
Thanks!

dawes mbc @ 12-15psi depending on climate (Darn cutout)
dirty k+n cone + kevin's old ghettorigged heatshield (need to move onto slater's "ghetto" style setup)
bfg trac t/a 205/50/16s (pretty decent for a standard tire but they're no toyo)

Dealers charge about 4 hours labor to completely re-do the PCV system. BTW, putting too much oil in can also make smoke come out of the dipstick tube.

Not to mention ruining your Catalytic convertor! (excess oil)
