Just a fun little vid really. Came across a 997 'mk2' "S" so 385hp and a Porsche quoted top speed of nearly 187mph. He wanted to play, so I turned on the cam on the Autobahn.
I'd have murdered him side by side from 3rd gear but when I had to let off and give him a little distance he was definitely pretty quick above 130mph.
Mind you, the 850 was running only 20 psi "track map" and it was kinda warm out. Still good fun.

I suggest watching youtube rather than embedded.


I hit around 165mph a few times then let off because there were no revs left. Was already putting both speedo and rpm off-scale <_<

nice, those cars are pretty quick - 12.5 @ 113

also JC, whats the weight of your car ?

Never weighed it. I'm guessing it's in the 2900lb range.

The 355bhp version carrera S traps 112 to 114 depending on which you come across. This one is 385 but I can't find any data on 1/4 miles, probably because they're too new.

At full boost my traps are ~118.

My father has a 09' 997 4S, traps 113-4 in the 1/4 @ 12.5 stock.

I picked a pretty circuitous route and arguably cheated slightly, but I'm going to get there

+1. Drivers here have a hard time at 55-65 mph, I don't even want to think about an unrestricted stretch of highway Posted Image But on the other hand, it would help Darwin along......

I don't need top speed, I need acceleration. I gladly live with the 170mph cap in exchange for better performance on track!
