So me and my friend were going to lowes today to get something, we get on the highway and both are side by side and get a red light, i roll down my window and said lets race i wanna see if i can even keep up, which i really thought i couldn't that good, but was i wrong, we both take off kind of slow, then we both punch it, she started to pull away up to 40, then i start reeling her in and finally pass her at 50, had her by about half a car length maybe a little more, she couldn't catch back up, then we both slow down around 90. we pull into lowes and i asked her were you flooring it she says yes and she was shifting at only 5k, redline on cobras are 7k, she was shocked and so was i, i'm not sure if she would have shifted a little later she would have got me but it was fun. her cobra gets all the hp at 5800 and torque at 4800 so she was 800 rpm shy of all 305 horses i guess. plus her car weighs almost 3600 and mine 3300.

While the peaks might occur well before redline, don't forget that the gearing directly affects the amount of horsepower at the wheels.

280bhp@7k in 3rd might be more whp than 305bhp@5k in 4th.

true, we may have a rematch today with her redlining every gear out this time and maybe her launching it.

i dont believe there as fast as they should be (if that makes sense) because i know one time i was driving next to one doing like eh idk somewhere btwn 35 and 50 and we both took off and i ended up passing him and my cars slowwwish
