I'm arguing that middle class america lives in that bubble, which, while statistically white, should not be referred to as a "group of white people". And it's not true that they are given the benifit of doubt. Especially in predominately middle class towns where white yuppies are the majority. The police are just looking to enforce the more popular crimes with that demographic. Without having stats handy to base this on, off the cuff examples might be DUI, junior operator law violations, speeding during the morning commute, and now hands-free or txt while driving violations.
