How about getting parts for an engine that never made it across the ocean either.

I agree it would be cool to have simply because there aren't any here, but could be costly in the long run. You would have to make it emissions legal for 92 along with swapping the speedo that works in miles. Probably source that out of England if they will let you get away with imperial gallons.

Probably be cooler if you got a RHD model out of Britian. :)

I've seen one at the Canadian Volvo Club meets over the years. There's a guy who imported a dark gray 480 Turbo. I offered to buy it on the spot, he wasn't selling

About the only part of the 400 series I've ever seen here is the sidemarkers. They're a funky mix of the side badges and x70 marker lights, with amber lenses.

It was designed for the US market (hence some of the odd lights) but never came here, don't think it came to this side of the pond at all. We've missed out on tons of great cars and engines...

I saw one a while back on Dallas Craiglist. A friend sent me the link. Seems like it was $4200 or so.

Not sure it would be fun to own. Think of the difficulty of getting parts...

The 80's had alot of very good FWD cars. Gti, FX16, prelude. The list is long. They never made it because of the market it was in. They would have never sold very well in the US. They look like there made good for the time. Would of had a higher sticker price then a Japanese car.
+1 T5 that oh yeah!. High 10's if it would hook up. I love 80's cars! I would rock one.
