Obama can't speak and the Boy Scouts National Jamboree because he has to go on the view (insert sounds of chickens) ..... As a good liberal I guess it would be a bad idea to validate an organization that values hard work, family values and doing for others before yourself. Mr. President you are a joke. Mike Rowe was there though... which is better anyway. Just had to vent about that. This president continues to impress.

Yeah cuz going on the view is all about campaigning. Its all PR. His % of women is dropping like a rock.
It diminishes the Office of The President. It shows the connection to elite, and Hollywood.
That same night he went to a posh Manhattan DNC fundraiser, held and hosted by the publisher of Vogue.
So shallow. He coulda done better for his image by showing up at the Jamboree. But he would be a hypocrite, he's not in line with their values.

That some should be rich shows that others may become rich, and hence is just encouragement to industry and enterprise. Let not him who is houseless pull down the house of another; but let him labor diligently and build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his own shall be safe from violence when built." - Abe Lincoln

The Boy Scouts are hardly a Norman Rockwell painting. So they're a club for (mostly) White, straight, Christian boys. Fine. They sure as hell don't deserve any government support, or the imprimatur of the Presidency because of that.
The Daily Show nailed this one:

The Daily show wrote his lines at his last speech. NO kidding.
Sorry, Boy Scouts has helped build more men than the Govt has. ANd I had black kids in both my CubScout and Boy scout troops, as a matter of fact my den mother was african american.
Yeah cuz being a good christain is awful for society...
Next...
We need jobs you and I.
PS, I didnt -1 you, I dont do that for good debate. Now if you want govt money to flip your N/A to a Turbo car, then you fail...

Boy scouts taught me some valuable lessons as an impressionable youth, was a great organization.
I may not have voted for Obama, but I can see the importance of a wide versus small audience. He moved to the view because his "handlers" told him to, just like every other president has done to boost approval ratings.

I believe the View date was already set before the Boy Scouts asked the White House to have the President speak. The White House turned down the Boys Scouts months ago according to BSA, but you only hear about it now because it makes bigger news.
I am not sure why he couldn't have done both and rescheduled the View interview, but I don't know the logistics of the whole thing.
