Be more specific, and outline your setup.
"Don't seem to be engaging" makes no sense, either they are or they are not.
What clutch, how did you bleed the slave/master, if you bled them; how high does the pedal grab, if it grabs? Grinding? Shifter hard to move? Etc.....
Also this probably belongs in maintenance....

Sorry i can start the topic in maintenance... however the shifter moves freely. The slave was bleed manually ( pumped it the cracked bleeder) bout 20 times still a bit of froth coming yet the clutch feels good. when I start the car wether clutch is depressed or not shifter moves freely. also no reverse lights. Is this an issue of bleeding the clutch more or does the gearbox need to be in a specific position before attaching the clutch linkage

cables are backwards 
Build block,93 cams ,precision 5031E ,custom manifold, M56h ,custom 850r clutch, FMIC ,Full exhaust system, recaro seatd,custom 4 pistom alfa BBK , Sway bars and links , Bilstein suspension, Turbo Tuner

I've do it myself, shifter would feel like butter
plus make sure that they are attached to brackets properly

cables r not backwards... what else could be wrong? I had my gearbox sent out for new seals and slave push bearings could there be some thing wrong with thart?
