Used the NGK Iridium IX with my red 850, 19 psi GT3071, and although I'm not a fan of the iridium plugs either I must say they performed flawless.

I had Iridium (forget the brand but I think NGK) in my stock 1998 C70 in the Atlanta area (high summer temps) with no issues what so ever - the engine ran very smooth after swapping them in.

BKR7E's here also, swear by them. also run bcpr7es alot of the time, i like them more but for screwing around i use bkr's but once everything is dialed in i swap over to bcp's

I run the NKG BKR7E or BKR6E depending on time of year and weather. In the summer, run the colder plug 7E. Since the motor rebuild/go fast parts last year I've been running the NGK plugs with no issue (once gapped properly  ).

40k except when they don't. Like I said I got about 2000 miles out of Volvo plugs with my old turbo.

No. His car eats volvo plugs every 2k miles.

But NGK's not so much.

SO what is different? If the Volvo plugs are so good, why do the NGK's last?

The car runs a little rich sometimes, but The real issue is just that OEM volvo plugs weren't the right ones for my application. And like Joe said the NGKs last and run perfectly so I'm sticking with those. You need to get rid of that mentality that "Volvo plugs are the only way to go." What works, works, and what doesn't doesn't.

And if the volvo plugs work on your car that's fine, I'm not saying you shouldn't use them.
