I told numbnuts to go to school and commission in. Take ROTC and command and general right out and come out making decent bank in his early 20s. Instead hes gonna spend 4 years end up an E2 and take home 16k a year if hes lucky. Good luck dude.

Not everyone needs to be an officer. Officers can't do their job with out the enlisted and the enlisted would be lost without officers lol.

Porn booths would be a mess too without jizz moppers. Doesn't mean I want to be one.

Valid point. No but in all seriousness my Dad almost enlisted but instead decided he really wanted to be an officer and now at lt. Col he is set for life. Chuck isn't giving bad advice when he says go to school. There will be a massive pay difference.

If you go back and do OCS and all that. The GI bill works for a reason. 90% of people will have a wife, and kids and never use it is the reason

Chuck gave you the win formula.

Second place goes to the soldier that stays in college and goes thru the NCO academies, right up to master sergeant.

Good deal, cupcake. I know you been waiting for this slot to open up. Now dont fuck it up by getting married and popping kids out at 22 yrs old. When your not hitched you'll do stuff like volunteer for stupid shit and jump outta air planes. Thats what the life is when your young. B)

That some should be rich shows that others may become rich, and hence is just encouragement to industry and enterprise. Let not him who is houseless pull down the house of another; but let him labor diligently and build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his own shall be safe from violence when built." - Abe Lincoln

True that!

And don't stick your Oscar Meyer into foreign puanani either... all they want is an excuse to bring their entire family to America... don't give 'em that.

Lots of good advice here. Do great things as enlisted. Volunteer for stuff. Make a name for yourself. Use the GI Bill and get a degree. Then apply to OCS and become an officer... then start all over again (Do great things as a junior officer... volunteer for stuff... make a name for yourself). Then get a Masters degree and keep your stuff straight, and you should see full-bird before your 45th birthday.

I would love to make a lifetime career out of this as it is an excellent opportunity for me

I am planning on using the GI Bill to continue my education and get into Officer School from which I will continue my career in the Air Force as I continue to go to school.

Any other advice you guys want to give me?
