Started with a little brake upgrade and an oil change. Honesty these cars should never have come with 280mm I tried driving it for a 6 months like that but compared to the other car with 302's there's a big difference.



oh and a airpump..


I've been stock piling things for a while so I thought it might be nice to install some of this stuff.



Decided to paint the head while I was in there. went with graphite. Kinda wishing it was a little darker. oh well, I'm not doing it over.










then onto the Thottle body...















The NA TB makes a really nice difference on a manual! The car feels much quicker and more responsive off the line. The power curve smoothed out substantially and it just feels like a different car. If you noticed the T5 Throttle plate had a restrictor on it much like the NA cars do. With the Manual, 18t, bigger throttle body and other stuff this car is finally starting to live up to it's potential. The (98) V70R's should've been sent out like this from the factory IMO...soooo much more fun.



Now I just need to order a smaller battery so that I can get the water injection installed. I'm gonna put the reservoir on the battery tray and the pump directly under it. I'll post up when I get it completed.

the CF really pulls that engine bay together nicely.

is that the OBX strut tower brace? how do you like it?

It's one of IPD's versions. looks exactly like the OBX don't know how long they made this one. It makes a small difference. every little bit helps.

It may be a compounded difference because of other modification but yes it makes a very noticeable differnce. more than an exhaust would.

yeah it wasn't too bad. I spent an hour cleaning the engine before I installed it in January and another hour scouring it and scraping it before paint. I masked off the bay and covered the car with plastic and used 500 degree single stage rattle can high temp paint. I used an entire can and did about 6 -8 coats. Let it cure for a couple of days while I installed the other parts.

Good to know, the combo of NA TB with a RICA tune would prolly show a better throttle response. While I'm at it, get a SNAAB turbo inlet pipe Thanks man!

Good to see you removed all the extraneous castings from the intake - it looks much better than just a polish over!

I'd go with two caps on the TB ports over that kinked hose - that's far more likely to rupture over time, given the hose isn't designed to maintain that much stretch...

thanks. Good call on the hose I just didn't have any extra caps and was dying to get the thing back together so I could drive it

That looks great! Did you polish the manifold yourself?

I can't take any credit for it. Average Volvo and volvo 5.0 polished and painted it for me. They did and AWESOME job!

Brett might take other orders for these I'm not too sure though. He said it took about 18 hours of labor to grind down polish and paint.

thanks : ) I was eyeballing your copper top engine which I love but knew I had to pick a different color.. I wanted something that would match up with the CF

oh yeah eventually I'll get to replacing those. All in due time. Next is the water injection and then I may be working on front mount setups this winter so... I'll wait until I figure out what else I'm putting in the car : )

Nice! I just threw some ate's on mine. Went with zimmermans on the rear and akebono ceramics all around. It bites great and has much better feel than oem. Plus they're ultra quiet and there is noticeably less dust.

what was the model year of the NA car that you pulled that out of? the ones that i have seen do not have those additional ports that need to be capped. you are providing me great incentive to install it in my car though along with the snabb TB hose that i bought during the group buy
