well tonight i finally got to see my friends fully custom built corrado. when he bought it the engine and transmission were trashed. so he ended up ultimately getting a 1.8t engine and building it up, slapped a GT30 on it, did an awesome job putting in VW's SYNCHRO AWD system in it. 5 speed, this thing is pretty dope. its an awesome car.

this thing is a green light monster, despite the fact that his 1st gear is shot  i cant get over how quick this thing launches for an everyday car. once he hits about 2nd gear, he can just ease into the throttle and the sound of the turbo on this thing is just pure awesome.

anyway. so i tell him i have to hear this corrado on the road. after we leave we get out on the highway and its nice and clear. we're dead even, and so we see what the T5 is up against. we're going about 45-50 and i up about a half car length immediately. by 70 i'm about a full car length ahead and i stay there from speeds above that. i was really surprised at how well the T5 @ 16 PSI handles against these 1.8t's. this really wasnt even supposed to be about me beating him but just wanted to show off a pretty great machine. although it was nice to show off some volvo power :D

Sounds like the results would've been a lot different from a dig with him having the AWD. Nonetheless, glad to hear you took him at highway speeds.

Do you have spacers in the rear?

17 x 7.5 Comets? I want. It seems like the Volans never sit out with the fender as the pegs and comets do. :(

Meh, I think its more due to the fact of the 1.8t and the AWD isn't helping from a roll. I think it should be a bit quicker with that GT30 but it takes a lot to make them motors fast. Some kid I know had a 04-05 Golf with all kind of work done and a big ass turbo and I shit on him every way imaginable. He was FWD and he sucked at launching so I peddled it next to him to keep it even until he caught traction and I still romped on him. I've run into a few on the street with all the basic bolt-ons with bigger turbos and nitrous and still walked them. :D

For some reason my car is faster than it should be. I'm not complaining though.

i know. he took the VR out because he said it didn't have enough crazyness. but seriously after installing practically everything from the ground up, why not just supercharge the VR? there are so many kits available it's kind of dumb not to.but i'm not complaining
