I have my suspicions there will be a post in the Miserable Men thread at some point in the next 24 hours that will reveal why.

why??
The commercial development company that we do a lot of work for (probably too much) has a closing on 3 condos on the 24th...they have the occupancy inspection on the 22nd...the excavating company fucked up on the sidewalks and curbs and therefore the concrete company couldn't pour which makes it so I couldn't show up LAST monday to start the landscape installation.
Normally this would be a 2 day install except for the fact that these particular condos have Uni-lock Turfstone driveways. I have to personally lay three of these (@ 1200 sq feet) by monday and the excavating company just filled driveway #1 with limestone.
So long story short...I have to lay pavers all weekend. The DOC on site is a douchebag.. but the VP of construction (the DOCs boss) is a good friend so I have to come through for him. there are 12 more buildings coming up that are identical, and I would like to do the pavers on all of them...good money..
Also have to fix the pavers in the street that the excavating co. fucked up. and lay brick in the "inserts" on the sidewalks..
This is what it should have looked like 10 days ago..and I should be finishing tomorrow..instead this is from 3pm today

1 driveway filled..thats it.

I have 5 grand worth of Turfstone, 10 yards of mason sand 20 yards of topsoil and $6500 worth of plant material sitting and waiting be installed. So everyone else can take their time. Closing date isn't going to change...just means I have less time to do shit right..
welcome to my world..

I beg to differ. Clarkson always says that about 911s. But I wouldn't be surprised if the guy was yelling power!!!! Up to the point he slid in between the two cars

Sounds like construction. Concrete and dirt guys wont give a shit if you have less time as long as they get their stuff done and zip on out of there before the deadline, leaving you with the problem.I have 5 grand worth of Turfstone, 10 yards of mason sand 20 yards of topsoil and $6500 worth of plant material sitting and waiting be installed. How'd the excavation guys screw up?
Also, DOC? What does that mean?

The excavator A: didn't make the proper radius for the turn at the intersection.
B: Dug the sidewalk 2 feet off
C: Forgot to sleeve for irrigation and had to dig a trench and cut away pavement..
DOC...Directorate of Construction.
The guy on site who "coordinates" all of the various trades and interprets the plans etc...the guy in charge who all the problems fall on essentially

So hes like the General Contractor for the project? Are each of the trades responsible for their own layout or is that the responsibility of the DOC? Was the lack of irrigation discovered when they went to put the actual line in?The excavator A: didn't make the proper radius for the turn at the intersection.

Coral Development Corp. is the General contractor. The DOC is their on site "manager"..Big development corps have many jobs going at the same time so they need to have more than one guy to manage projects..So there is the guy on my project but they have other DOCs on other sites. My friend is the VP of construction, he is the guy in charge of all of these dummies..he also really knows whats going on and is allowed to make cost changes and approve site changes and budget modifications.
The irrigation/sprinkler system is always forgotten about until the end. That is part of our installation but the excavator is supposed to sleeve for the main water line. We have a guy we sub all sprinkler work to..its not profitable for us to try to do it ourselves
