Do Not Buy From Ian Haan, Volvo940Tuner Or Driftbrick744 - Scammer!

I recently PM'd him and he said "oh my bad, I totally forgot. I'll have to check my paypal". Also I have his cell number and one to two times a week I text him "where's my money" or something to that effect. We have PM conversations clearly stating that he bought something from me for a certain price and he still needs to pay me. I know it was foolish for me to give something to someone in good faith that they would pay me but it's messed up that he is on the forum quite often and appears to be buying things from other people, so why can't pay me?!
Be aware of his track record, he has made little to no attempts to get payment to me!! If you've had a similar experience with this member post it up, it's not right!

Should you have given him the goods without getting the cash? No. But....
He gave you his word that he would, and he didn't. It's been long enough and there's been more than enough communication to show that he has zero intention of paying you. A man is only as good as his word, so you know what kind of man he is. So, that makes him another piece of shit.
Track him down and beat his ass.
My total amount of times getting screwed here is up to 5 or 6 now. That's with people giving me their word. That's why I don't sell here anymore. Lesson learned.

I anticipated problems from the minute he started posting here. I honestly can't believe VS is having another incident like this, it's truly pathetic.
Ian, pay the money that you owe or your IP will be permanently banned. I've seen you buying and selling items on here and SS, so you obviously have the money.
Also, @ Matty Moo... I've had several transactions similar to bmx's with zero problems. On several occasions I've either given parts to someone, or taken parts from someone with the promise to send a paypal payment as soon as I got home. (e.x., Chilled Man, Delaware T5M, etc). You're right that doing "business" this way isn't exactly the smartest thing. But when you are in a close knit community like VS, and have met the person multiple times, a transaction like this doesn't seem unreasonable.
It's a real shame that a few "bad apples" here are ruining things for everyone.

I have myself, and I understand your statement. I've probably had around 100+ transactions on VS without a problem, and more than a few where I sent somebody something up front. Including sending shit to Germany and Canada. There's a large group of trustworthy members here that I'm more than comfortable dealing with, but some members of the younger demographic have shown that they don't give a shit.
I have a 200 mile rule. If you're within 200 miles of me and you fuck me over, I'm coming to get you. I don't care if it's $5 or $500. I sold a brake module to guy 100 miles from me. He said, "what if I don't return the module back to you". I responded, "I know where you live and you're close". I had it back within a week.

Mike, just because you had a positive experience with him does not make him a great and honest guy. Look at his history on Turbobricks and even the single incident here. It's enough to know he isn't a great an honest guy.i have sold Ian many things in the past month and he is always followed through on payments. He has been a great buyer. You should not have sent the stuff before getting payment. He is a great and honest guy.

If he was an honest guy, then why won't he pay for parts he received?i have sold Ian many things in the past month and he is always followed through on payments. He has been a great buyer. You should not have sent the stuff before getting payment. He is a great and honest guy.
Did you even read the thread on TB before posting that he's a great and honest guy? The evidence seems to indicate the total opposite and it's like you completely ignored it and based everything on your experience with him as a buyer.

I really need to make a new sig pic. Nahhhhhhhh

Secondly, we, as sellers have responsibilities. Mainly getting paid for X item sold, that being said you walked yourself right into this one. If you ask for it chances are you're going to get it. Period, bottom line.

He asked about purchasing a rear sway bar from be in early october. I said yeah that offer is fine. Initially I couldn't ship it til the next week so i told him to wait on payment. After I was ready a few weeks passed. He stayed in contact and payed just a few days ago. He said he was in a tight money situation, and as a college student I fully understand that, When he paid I shipped it. I wouldn't say it was a bad transaction. It was drawn out but who cares. Generally in the real world and item is given to the buyer when the item is paid for.
Be smart people don't ship parts on promises to pay. Don't send paypal gifts, and 99% of the problems VS'ers are having will disappear. The only people I have given parts to without receiving money first are members I consider friends. I also have their Home address and cell phone numbers
edit VS needs a buying and selling guide for Dummies. Protect yourself ppl the buying and selling practices going on, on VS are just asking for members to be ripped off. It's literally taking candy from a baby. Don't place good faith on someone that you have met over the internet. Or met once before.
