I must figure out who the hell this is, I pass you almost every morning 8 AM sharp on RT. 30. You turn on Sherman St. headed into the city. For months and months you had an HID out on the driver's side. It is now fixed and pointing almost straight up.

You have slightly tinted windows, ABM headlights, Perfos IIRC.

Damn it, who are you.

I think so! I work at TimBar in New Oxford, that's where I'm headed around 2:15 or so in the afternoons. :)

I thought we exchanged a glance the 2nd time we passed but I wasn't too sure. Yeah, there's a few VW toolbags that work there...........proud to say I am not one of them.

They do not understand the Volvo and I like it like that.

What happened with you accident?

I've been seeing your car and started noticing the gauges etc... I like it. I frequent my buddies shop out on rte 30 by Lee's diner too. Flickinger's- its the shop with all the Volvos sitting there, good guys there. We've been going there for years and they are the ones that turned me over to Volvo.

I ate a tractor trailer head on with my VW  I honestly don't remember the accident... I ended up in his lane in construction on a snowy morning (Dec 7 '09). They cut me out of the car and airlifted me. Spent almost 8 weeks in ICU, another 8 or 9 in rehab. I have photos...
I would buy another VW but thought it may be best to buy a tank so now I have a Volvo. I don't regret it except that I was getting 43 mpg out of my VW running 18 lbs boost. I like my Volvo though but its like starting over on what to modify.

Thanks man, I must say that after I can't remember how long that stupid gauge pod pisses me off sometimes just being there in the way.

Yeah! I've been to Flickinger's quite a few times as well. I sold Greg a totalled 93 850 a few years ago and go there for the occasional oddball used part from time to time. He should recognize me by name and red S70. Dave's dealt with him a bunch as well, just recently swapped a trans. with his wife's T5R.

Damn, that doesn't sound good but thankfully things turned out ok after all was said and done for ya. After all, you're alive. :D

Honestly the Volvo will never be a race car but you can improve things like pep, cosmetics, handling without a doubt. Performance wise though the basic rule of thumb would be increase air intake flow with either a K&N panel filter/aftermarket or homemade intake, you can step up the turbo a notch or two, open up the exhaust and some sort of off the shelf tune. That will get you to a pretty fun place. Especially with the 2.4 LPT motor which is in my car as well.

Personally I've done these things to mine and while it surely isn't the fastest thing on the road it will move pretty good when you tell it to.

Before anything though you want to make sure you've got a healthy platform as a starting point, we refer to it as "Stage 0".

Grab some pics of the Volvo and toss them in the showroom...stock or not who cares, hose the oh yeah! off and call it a day.

Got a shot of the VW?

They are good guys... I was a friend of Chris's before He started working for Greg. So when Chris went there, we followed. They would do the oddball stuff I didn't have time for and my inspections of course. Now since I got the car from him, I stop in to get parts etc. Things still aren't the same from the accident so they have been doing more work for me lately.

I'll load up some photos and post them. Only have a couple of the Volvo... its in good shape but needs a little TLC. I picked up some mint Peg's for a steal, would like to put some snow's on the wheels that are on there now.

That's cool, do the Pegs have tires already? Around here the favorite snows are usually Nokian's or Blizzak's, they do well for people. And yes, I spend way too much time here. (Work is slow right now so I'm on a UC Benefits vacation.)

Wife basically runs a dog rescue out of Kentucky (partners with her sister, sister lives there) so she's busy with that alot of the time so here I am. ^_^

Yeah... Came with PZero's on them with close to 3/4 tread or so. I used to run snows on the VW and it made a big difference.
