MY evap code existed before I did this...has nothing to do with the SAS delete. I tried to clarify this..All x70s/850s have evap codes all the time..probably coincidence. In my case its the gas cap, I just haven't gotten a dealer one yet..mine came with a stant "special"

Another fucking  s70: with Lots of zip-ties, a power antenna, and a bitchin shift knob... the only mods that matter.

Advance Auto Parts Drain plug section $2.79, also probably good to do a copper sealing washer.

Hello,

I have been reading this thread, I have a bad SAS pump. I see in the instructions that their is only 1 connector and 1 electronic box inside the plastic housing that holds the ECU. Mine has 2 inside that box, so which one would be the ECU that needs modified? I have one in the middle location and a second one in the location closest to the fender.

Also how can I tell if I have the 4.4 ECU. I have a 1998 V70 AWD.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Dave

the reason that there's two in there is because one is an engine computer and the other is the transmission computer. all automatic cars have a 2nd box, just like you do.

for you, since you have a 98 AWD LPT, look for the one with the last digits of "460" and that is your ECU.

Thanks T5power, Can I assume that I also have the ECU version 4.4 or is there a way to verify this as well.

Yeah, if it's a '98 it will be Motronic 4.4. The computer in the middle location is the ECU.

thanks volvo5.0, i will update the post after i have the mod completed and tested. i am assuming if i do not have the tool to clear the code that it will clear itself after driving awhile.

Once you pull the ECU out the code will go away since the ECU has no power. Nice and easy.
