Hey guys !
It's winter here in Quebec and I have some time tonight because the canadians/sabers game is finished ! (with Montreal win) :P
I'm 23 and love turbo's car... especially volvo... lol
I'm french canadian, so please don't be to hard.
My first 850 since 3 years and a half is a 193 000 kms (about 115 000 miles I guess) automatic T5-R that I bough from my parents after school.
I've done some modifications on it... some idiot, some nice and I'm still learning !
The first pic is at the end of the summer this year.
The turbo 96 850 on the back is the one of my friend.

A 2008 shot to compare... the drop... :P

I have some of when I bough it in 2007 on winter rim (you don't have to see to compare and I'm lazy :P)
Anyway I will show you my beginning project because I have a lots of parts to add on it but you will only see this summer !
Some more recent pics with minor mods...
- Stage 0
- EST 2.5" catback
- ipd blue drop on koni fsd and ipd endlinks
- ipd swaybars
- windows tint
- K&N intake (now ipd srt5 with shield)
- Snaab intake, catch can.
- entertainement etc...

The one of the back is my winter beater (see post after...)

Dynosheet from this summer.
- First run = 206 whp, 250 trq with the ipd tune 15 psi. (no mbc)
- Second run = 220 whp, 270 trq with a not finished Boostengineering tune 15 psi at this time (no mbc). Now 18 psi but still not finished...

The Boostengineering ECU is more agressive that ipd
I have to work on the AFR at 17-18 psi because 12.5-13 is to lean... for me I guess... but I'm looking forward :P
It's verry good tune at 15 psi, but I love to shorten the wastegate :D

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And my second 95 turbo 850... manual !
Bough last year in garbage shape.. but with 66 000 kms (40 000 miles ?) !
Put some money and a lot of time on it and it served me well !
It was a true beast at 17 psi with the mbc on ipd tune this summer !
It will be a lot better in 1 or two year !

Lots of parts waiting for both cars this summer... only a couple months remaining !

Thanks geraldj for never having replied to my calls, emails nor voicemails = never get the garrett turbo purchased from him last year...
HE never gaved me any news about it to get this fixed . THAT is the real ... problem. .

So I got a new one... 50 trim garrett BB with .63AR

All used parts got to be cleaned...

Just watch the boost with that Turbo? That thing will have no problem turning a stock engine into a rebuild. At least you can move on as Gerald G will always know what he did and know what we all think of him. GL this summer.

I forgot to tell I got JCViggen old MTE tune for this kind of turbo. This is his old injectors too, all from GeraldJ.
I will put the mbc down 13-14 psi to begin and turn up the boost if everything is fine...
I don't have access to 94 here... only 91 octane.
With water injection, I suppose it will be ok...

According to my Tuner, Shell 91 is better than Sunoco/PetroCanada 94 anyways when compared on a dyno.

So does that make Shell 93 even better? All the Shell stations around here have V-Power (93) as premium, no 91

I can only speak for my area which is Toronto. He said that they have done some testing with fuel, and the Shell V power 91 was better than the Sunoco 94.

Shell is a true 91 octane with no ethanol added. Petro-can 94 uses 10% ethanol to achieve the 94 octane rating. So comparing them is tricky. The 94 octane is still a quicker burning fuel so it's better at controlling ping/knock, but shell 91 is a much cleaner and complete burning fuel so if you're tuned for it, it can make more power.

We had a physics question that related to different kinds of fuel octanes with different additives. But in the end, it was so difficult (going on almost 10 pages of work on a simple question of which fuel would deliver the largest explosion compared to the quickest explosion) that even the prof gave up on it.

Thats pretty much what my Tuner said. Tune for the Shell 91 as its esy to find and better than the 94.

shell 91 is great fuel and burns really clean and long term better for your engine... howver Sunoco gold 94 allows your car to advance timing and make more HP... especially above 5000 rpm on our cars.... unless I'm racing or doing top speed runs I stick with shell 91
