Do you know how many ft-lbs of torque do you have? judging by the constant wheelspin across the RPM range it must be as much as a caterpiller excavator.

over 400 ft-lbs from about 2000 rpm, but the figure is coming down and more linear as we tune it, the car has been at the tuners for over two weeks so far (glad I'm not paying by the hour ...lol)

over 400 ft-lbs from about 2000 rpm,

I am surprised the rods would hold that.

That is insane. like zappo said i am surprised that the rods are holding up. Are you sure you are running stock rods ? : ) cause this just crushes my conception of what the rods can handle and what they can not handle.

the rods won't hold, that's why we're trying to get the torque down until I change the engine.

Love to see some of the dyno plots so far - what clutch & PP have you been using for that level of torque?

Well, I seem to have forgot all about this thread, so a quick update. The Tuner ended up scraping my engine, so old one out:

New one going in:
Posted Image

I also decided to do away with the Top mount intercooler, and fit this lot instead:

Posted Image

Rebuilt hybrid Garrett turbo fitted :)

Also decided to have a go at a bit of fiberglassing:

Getting there:

Hood made:

New strut-brace made:

And that in a nutshell brings it up to date.

Nice work! Looking much tidier now!

Is that Renault cover used on a version of our motor, or it just happened to fit?

I was going to make one in CF, but to be honest with you the mold isn't that good, so I made it in Fiberglass instead
