As I posted in our discussion thread, the dragstrip that I frequent offered me the opportunity to choose 4 Fridays this year to schedule the Import Racing nights. Has to be a Friday of a non-event weekend. Two years ago I went to their Import Night and was surrounded by a bunch of a Ricers. Now that I know how to approach these guys I can probably make some money racing them. Buy anyways, I've attached a link to the dragstrip schedule, so I would appreciate if the MWC would give me some input for the 4 Fridays for Import Wars, if you are so inclined to come south to race. I was thinking May, but that is probably no good because of Carlisle. Art, Darnell, give me your thoughts. Gabe you better show with that Super III tune your getting. Alain lets see what the C70 can do.

Here's the dates I'm thinking:

June 3
July 22
Sept 9
Sept 16
October fridays?
Lee 1998 S70 T5M; 113K+ miles; IPD Stage III ECU; 18T turbo @18.5psi; Precision FMIC; R manifold; EST 3" DP; balanced crank with LGSpeed rods; 3 angle valve job; SPEC III clutch; ALL of Sconeman's T5M parts; KW2 coilovers; TurboSmart Eboost2 EBC ---13.605 @ 105.39 mph ---

If you get this locked in, try posting in other car forums. There is a good size VW scene in the Chicago\NWI area. Site is www.vwvortex.com. The more people showing up, most likely the track will let you do this next year. Also do the domestic sport compact sites like Cobalt\Cavalier and SRT4 sites.

Jim, are you still a member of the VW forums? If so, can you post my proposed dates on those forums since I'm not a member.

Here, let me pat you on the back Gabe, cough cough. And the bad thing is the track is scheduling these on Friday's, so need to get an early start for the road trippers. Gabe cough Lucas cough.

Thanks Lee for helping out with that.

Getting a head start shouldn't be a problem for me. I won't be able to get to the ones that are during this semester, because I have my Capstone class on Fridays and am already missing one for Spring Break, and then will probably miss another one for Carlisle.

I was wondering who this other Jim is :P. Anyways, I might be down for this but I work on weekends so it's difficult to say without a concrete date.

Nothing yet. Then again, it is early. I would just lock in the dates and then I can re-post again in the Spring.

I just posted in Toyota Nation.
