Then I stripped out one of the front ones and had to replace the hard line to the master cylinder

That's kinda silly!

here's what i did, after I stripped it I cut off the fitting with a hacksaw. Then went out & got some new fittings & stuck female on original pipe, flared it & mated it up with some new pipe which then mated to the new ss line at stock bracket, didn't have to bend all that line. Advice for others who strip theirs in the future.

You can kind of see in picture:

Off topic, but are those raceconcepts rotors you have?
Just curious, because I know you have porterfield pads which is what I have waiting to go on, and my rotors from there are in the mail

That's what I was wanting to hear. Had a real PITA with raceconcepts, but I stuck with them because I haven't heard anything bad about their work.

I wanted to do that, but my femal fitting was destroyed and I couldn't find another. Tried every metric fitting place on the net and every local auto parts/pluming store. The only way to get one is buy getting the whole line from Volvo, at that point I figured I might as well use the whole thing.
That better not be my freeking car up there!

Yeah, that was my problem. I decided to order when they were in the process of moving.
After they moved, they accidentally shredded my information. mad.gif
Took a couple of emails and calls, but they sent them 3 day delivery, so it's all good. Probably won't get to install them until the end of next week though.

How much did Volvo charge you for the new line? I stripped the flare nut on my front driver's side trying to put my SS lines.

Hey guys maybe, a bit late here. Here is what I am doing for my brake lines rear.
I went to the local salvage yard. got the lines for the rear where it disconnects from the rear of car. It contains the steel lines & brake hoses. If you can ger a spare of a car in the junk yard you can install the new hoses of the car. Then I slide the line into place the attach the 2 calipers & join the line to the line that runs from the front of the car to the rear of the car.

I'm having the same ordeal. IPD's kit has 2 long male/female lines and 2 short female/female lines. I'm assuming the longer ones are for the front, but the shorter ones are WAY too short to go on the back. I was peeking around back there and saw a couple hard lines that weren't on the front calipers. The brake lines you're supposed to be replacing are the rubber hoses running from the front of the rear wheel well to the caliper, right? I'm totally confused here... Ayuda por favor!

No, there's two shorty flex lines in there. The one to the pass rear sits on top of the delta link and the driver's side is up ahead of the wheel well. Both sides have hard line going into the calipers, this is normal. Good luck man, I had a bitch of a time!

I replaced the front lines with SS, but I'm having trouble with the rears.  When I try to break them loose, the whole line twists.  Should I just put penetrating oil on them and let it work for a few days?  I know some of you have SS lines, just looking for some pointers.

Thanks!!!

You may just need the "brake lines wrench". It is a set of wrenches that is thicker, Sears has them, just got a set of 5 for like 35-36 bucks. Good luck.

I got one that happened to have fittings for front and rear on either end. Just one wrench, I'll have to see how well it works...
