Any tips or starting points if I wanna get a rear hydraulic e-brake setup.

Edit: looks like I will be going with a mechanical setup.

No, but don't mind buying one.

Total budget is around 300$ looking to utilize junkyard parts ideally

the tool will cost 300, you could buy pre made brake lines if you can find them... but i think its going to be closer to 450... going to be allot of hunting and figuring to find the correct sizes and things...

theres 2 ways to do it...

correct way...

make a new line from the ABS to the handbrake and then on to the rear delta link pickup...

get it done way,

find someone with the tool and intercept the line and insert the fittings then just run your new lines to the handbrake...

good luck in the junkyard...

Hook up a master cylinder to the handbrake lever, plumb for additional rear calipers, and machine brackets for additional rear calipers. Why are you interested in doing this?

Because I have run outta of practical mods Posted Image

I like having a little fun in the rain. And a little e-brake helps pull the front in when you loose control from understeer. in hard corners.

Mainly for stunt driving. E-brake turns @ 60mph etc...

In the long run it should pan out. The factory e-brake has virtually no brake pad life and is a PIA to change. compared to rotors/pads

Soon you will have body and suspension to fix then. I see your plan.

The factory e-brake has virtually no brake pad life

There is a reason.

It's not designed to see heavy, constant use maybe? :arob:

Do you plan on drifting your FWD race car?:lol:

Obviously it's not designed for constant use. that's why I am considering upgrading it.

And yeah I do race my wagon , and occasionally enjoy locking the rear and whipping the front around corners.

Body and suspension?

You implying I will crash Posted Image

If I crash it won't be because of the e-brake fun. more likely road conditions or driver error on the track.

Suspension, well Kw's have lifetime warranty and the rest is just bushings and tires/brakes.

I am not e-braking on the streets or ne thing Posted Image closed parking lots etc... I have slide the car 50ft in the rain Posted Image with a little gas induced understeer/locking the rear.

You could just get a mechanical caliper for the rear rotors, machine some brackets, then just extend the stock e-brake cable to the mechanical caliper.

Something like these: http://www.jegs.com/...757779/10002/-1

You'd probably need a beefier one for e-brake slides rather than just a parking brake, but you get the idea.

This is dumb. If you want hydro hand brake, know its going to leak down and be useless as a parking break. As far as j-hooking it, you do not need a hydro brake set up. All you need is a mechanical disk set up. If you are cheap, look for an old set of Saab 900 calipers. RE brake flairing tools being 300 dollars, only if you buy them from Evolve. My beta one was something like 150 and jegs sells them for under 50. So again. This whole thread is stupid.

Thats what I use. All my lines are stainless not copper and I double flair them. Has no problem all the way up to 3/8 line. For regular copper lines 30 dollar jegs tool is fine

When I convert mine to the rear bbk I'm doing the same thing with mine, but will be running mech calipers like the Wilwood versions at Jegs. I'm only doing this because I personally find the stock ebrake to be completely useless and prone to failure.
