My car is finally getting back together. Everything has been upgraded including the suspension which so far I have bought -

Koni Yellows

IPD 1.7" Springs

IPD 25mm sways front and rear

TKI endlinks

Strut mounts

I can just get the XC90 springs seats up the street from my house. IPD are 3K away and I live in Canada so its the border BS duties and handling fees to deal with. If the XC90 is good enough... then thats good enough for me.

I have not heard anything about the IPD HDs but good things about the XC90s... I have them on my lowered R, no issues thus far.

If the XC90s are just as good then I might as well just buy local.

iPD are very good, I have them, but even iPD will admit that the XC90 spring seats are an excellent alternative. Identical to your, but made for a vehicle that weighs more, and therefore they have more material in them, and should last longer.

I can also vouch for the the XC90 spring seats. I've installed them and compared to the material used on my stock seats the XC90 one is much more solid and durable.

They are not the same (I mean IPD's and Volvo's), but the XC90 spring seats are good. I've used them on a few Volvos and haven't had an issue yet that I know about.

Correct, they are not the same.

Factory XC90 mounts still have the same issue as the other model OE mounts. They have poor bonding due to the material quality of the mount. So while the XC90 mount does have more material in it and will last a bit longer it's still going to fail in the same way given enough time.

Ipd units contain much more virgin rubber than the OE units. The incorporation of recycled material in the OE mount reduces vulcanization/bonding strength and leads to their ultimate demise.
Let me know if you have any further questions!

so basically IPD HDs are reinforced for even more strength.

Well my take is this so far. The XC90's do not like coilovers on full stiff, so now it's IPD's turn to see how they like it. I'm pretty sure it's going to turn out the same way. The XC90's didn't last very long at all before the middles blew out. Someone really needs to make some camber plates for these cars that work on standard spring diameters. Kaplenke's only work with their springs...no good for me with the Intraxs

I have purchased almost the same suspension mentioned in this post. The price difference between OEM XC90 and IPD HD was very small, so I went with the IPD HD version. IPD and Lucky are very honest about the products they sell. I have never seen a poorly built IPD product, but they are not the cheapest - quality does cost more.
