Good Work!

I'm still torn on whether to try these bushings. I have heard from anyone whose run them for several years to see if they hold up well over time.

The data logger is very cool. Once I have the VEMS setup, I bought the version that includes a SD card daughterboard for logging. Looking forward to not having a laptop floating on the pass. seat.

The new setting is much nicer on the street when running my 225/40/18 tires.  So, so far so good.

How did you get 225/40/18 to fit without rubbing? I have 215/40/18 and I have worn the inner fenders. A 225 would reduce that short side wall a little and open up selection of tires.

Offset. A different wheel with less offset (smaller ET) will move the wheel outboard, away from your inner fenders.

I want to see how you like the solid bushings after a while. I really want to put those in. Waiting on Adam for a write up.

My wheels have a 35 or 38 offset. I do get some rubbing, but never on the inside wall even at full lock. The rubbing i get is at the front on some good bumps. If I ran 35 series tires, I wouldn't have any rubbing at all. My fenders are stretched a little, but only by 3/8".

Well, these aren't technically solid. Solid would be using the stock bushings from a C70 convertible. They are solid aluminum.
I was going to try to test the trans mount this morning before work, but it snowed here again last night and I am not motivated enough to be under the car at this temp right now. :)

Sorry for the initial bad description. I am wearing the inner fenders at the outer edge where they meet the wheel arch of the fender. Not any damage to tire. If not for the bad Houston roads, it would not be an issue. So you rolled the fenders a little.

The aspect ratio of the 225 would give the little better ride than my current 215. My wheels are 35 or 38 offset.

I rolled the fenders 6 years ago or more to clear my brakes.

It sounds really bad when it hits, at least in the car. No damage to the tire though and it just rubs the plastic away. Eventually it will wear enough of the liner away and the tires wearing down from normal use your noise will go away. :)

When I first got these wheels they came with that size tire, so wore away the liner years ago. With the D2 coilovers on, I am slightly lower than I was before and with new tires, the rubbing is back. When it warms up I will look into seeing if I can move the liner back a bit, but by then it probably won't be making any noise anymore and I will forget about it.

Loving the D2 coilovers right now, and the Delrin bushings are probably helping also. Good autocross weekend.
Putting a scare into the competition!

I will start working on some intake changes in the next month.

I will try to get a few screen shots of them. Its mostly throttle position changing constantly based on what I am encountering on the track, but very seldom is it 100%

My youtube channel, http://www.youtube.c...50?feature=mhee

I don't have videos from the weekned up yet. My battery died after my first run yesterday, so only one good run on video. I need to start keeping my spare battery in the center console. I should have swapped batteries after Saturday.

I will have the weekend videos up sometime tonight.

I can post up my removal process if anyone is interested. It will destroy the old bushings though. Installing these is 5 seconds for each one.

You just whack them once with a hammer and they pop right out... 1 minute subframe bushing replacement?

if you remove the subframe completely from the car. Most won't do that. I didn't do it that way.

Here is a section from the middle of the run. The RPM line needs to be muliplied by 4 to get the correct number.

Slowest run from yesterday. Battery died in the camera after this. Tires were warming up and I dropped 3.5 seconds by the last run. Still couldn't stop the wheel spin after launching.

Update on the delrin bushings.

Just got back from TC Motorsports to realign the car after I installed the bushings. They definately centered up the subframe from what it was before.

From the track, I had less push in the front end. Enough that I had to change my coilover settings because I was getting more oversteer than I wanted.

I can live with the higher idle vibration for the improvement they have given me.

Good to hear. Makes me more inclined to install them.

Not leaving the track under its own power this time, although it could have.

Dropping it off at TC Motorsports.

Right now thinking broken valve spring given the random tapping at the top of the engine. Something is definately loose in there and moving around.
I hope to know more by this afternoon.

Damn. Best of luck that it's something minor. Did you catch any video of the noise?

Good luck!
