The Zappo Build

The general concensus is the oil starvation was caused by high cornering G-force. So, ironically, the coilovers caused this damage because without them I wouldn't have the cornering speed I do now.
Brian has some contacts who have either had this problem or are having it right now in race cars. Oil pan modification is probably what is going to be needed to add more baffling.

What bearings were you running?

Sadly, I can't remember the url...
Good luck with the rebuild.

Time to start searching the net.
Stock Volvo I believe. I don't see anything special in the build list.Cool reason but terrible result. Sorry to hear and looking forward to see what you come up with as a solution.

Ishihara-Johnson Crank Scraper with Teflon:

And an accusump... We went with the larger model but a smaller one might be able to be mounted somewhere inconspicuous and used with their electronic valve pretty out of the way.
And by my first accusump comment, I meant dry sump.

I wonder if you can buy those flapper doors as a universal kit.....
Hopefully this will resolve your issues.

If you're beating the motor often, 15w-50 ...
Sorry to hear George.
I picked a pretty circuitous route and arguably cheated slightly, but I'm going to get there

Since your car is street only, you probably would never encounter the problem. It is really only an issue with higher g-load cornering, so only cars on the track would have the issue. It is only when I tried to increase my cornering speed that this happened. Never had the issue with the previous suspension, and I was using Monday's practice day to setup the car to do turn faster.Hmmm.... I wonder if this is something I should also consider, or if it's really only an issue on the track.

If I bought the slicks like I was thinking last year, this issue would have happened even sooner.

I don't have the pan or anything.
I just posted it here as another example of what has been done.
Sucks George. Must be frustrating.
It is frustrating that I am now running into race car problems. I guess I am pushing my street car into race car territory.
I am a pioneer now, at least in the US.
