Difference doesn't look too bad. Hard to really see in the pic since one is angled.

Any pics of the said cylinder damages? deep cuts/marks in the liner?

Physically, it just looks like the overheated one has a chamfer on the upper big end that the RSI does not? Are they also 23mm pin like the RSI?

RSI says they are different enough that the machine shop would have a hard time balancing them.

No photos of the cylinders, just going by what I was told.

Where the hell is your engine? I could probably loan you the white wagon if you wanted to transport the engine at Mitch's to where the current engine is at.

I'Ve got a 2.4 bottom end from my 97glt you can HAVE if you want,I'm in Olympia.Water pump siezed and bent valves so the lower end good.

It is down at RSI. I wouldn't mind sending that engine down there. I assume the block and rods are still usable, and that would really speed things up.

Mitch would like it out of his garage also. :lol:

So, it looks like my other engine will be down at RSI tomorrow. :) They have someone up here picking up a car tomorrow, so for a little extra they can swing by and pick up the engine.

Hopefully between the two engines I can get a working one again. :)

Update:

Engine was picked up from Mitch's place yesterday and should be at RSI right now. It looks like sitting in the garage for almost 3 years it has been the target of scavengers. :) The parts I was interested in are still there, so it is all good.
