[Volopf]

Bought a 1991 940 SE half a year a go - finally can start working on it
the radio code noted in the user manual doesn't work
and the dash board seems to be from a 960

CT-814 Radio serial no. B00410010

radio has another sticker saying VOLVO
3533156-
4969 9017
JAPAN
somehow in that order

can anybody help me out here

Radio might be broken - cd flashes but the display stays dark

I'm not familiar with that model, but you can try holding the #6 channel preset button while turning the radio on.  It should allow the radio to work for about 15 minutes without the code.  If it works then at least you'll know.  You are going to need to call a dealer to get the code from the serial number.  If they dont give it to you over the phone, call another dealer until you find one that will.
