I'm not a professional mechanic but I'm an engineer and an x-weekend racer. At work I design assembly systems for all type of automotive products, ABS controllers, superchargers, steering racks, AC compressors, brake assemblys, etc. So I am familiar with the design and theory behind automotive parts. I also auto-xed a VW for 12 years and rebuilt everypart on the car. The engine, trans, etc. You name it, I had it apart.

I've been a backyard mechanic since around 1990 and used to make my racing money by working on other people s cars. I've probably installed around 50 sets of springs, done dozens of cluthes and cylinder heads, etc. I still occasionally do weekend work in the garage, but much less than in the past as I now have a family that eats up my extra time.
94 850 Turbo Wagon - Metallic Grey - MBC, SlammedHo Hoses & Fancy clamps, IPD block of urethane upper mount, standard K&N filter, added factory rear bar where there was none, super fancy E3 sparkplugs.
72 1800e - Real pretty, real slow. - rebuilding engine and adding Eaton M45 just for kicks.
